AOKP V9 Nightly By RHB ROMS Review.(GALAXY FIT GT S 5670)
I have installed the custom Rom by RHB roms on my Galaxy Fit last week.I used a lot of apps and games on it and also tried different settings to suit my self.I found that this ROM is very stable considering the other Roms which hang and reboot my phone frequently.
The Rom gives the amazing Android 4.1.2 OS UI and feel.It has many pros and quite a few Bugs. Some bugs can be over comed by using alternate apps but some are really irritating . Read the full post to see what bugs are involved and how i tried to cure them.
Pros: 1)Lots of Android 4 apps work smoothly. 2)Stable-Does not hang frequently. 3)Gives lots of settings to suit your liking. 4)Changes your UI completely with amazing JB styled status bar and toggles. 5)new widgets that would not work on GINGERBREAD. 6)Comes with a Preinstalled Music player called Walkman.(preety good) 7)The old screenshot shortcut (HOME+POWER) does'nt work BUt downt worry they have provided and onscreen shortcut for taking screenshots of your phone GO to settings>Rom Control>Power Menu and Enable the Show Screenshot option.Then long press power buton and select screen shot for taking picture of your current screen. 8)Cool power off animation.
Cons: 1)Major fault-GOOGLE apps not working .I tried to install the Playstore app.But i could'nt use it because it did not open up.I thought it might be a problem with the package so i tried downloading from a different place but still the same thing.The next thing i tried was to go to the Google play website and download from there directly,that too didnt work.
Alternative: I had to depend on the 3rd party websites like The 1Mobile Market.or the 4Shared app to download apps and games.
Another Google app that i installed is Google maps.That worked but it showed me somewhere in the Indian ocean while i was sitting cozily in my bedroom in India.
2)Camera app : The preinstalled camera app is faulty.The video mode is extremely slow.I tried to Use a different camera application like the Camera 360 but that turned out to be faulty troo. Finally the Pro capture application worked properly for still photos. I could not find an alternate app for Video recording.
3)INTERNET ON/OFF-I had problem in enabling the internet connection directly from toggle.Every time i have to go to the settings and enable the data.SOme times this too did not work.Them i have to go to the Mobile networks settings and try searching for network. (NOTE:This may be my carrier problem.)
4)Some minor app crashes. 5)Does'nt come with the navigation bar if you dont have root access. Overall i liked the Rom .If the developer colud eliminate the above bugs it would be absolutely perfect.
6)Gallery takes time to update if pics are copied from pc to SD card.
I am experiencing frequent reboots since i installed the n7music player and also astro file manager takes time to load.Some apps take time to load.The Cut the rope game also crashes and runs very slow. I think i have to try another ROM ________________________________________________________________________

The new amazing ubuntu Os has thrilled thousands of mobile junkies including me.I have been trying to get the look of the Ubuntu on my Android.I searched a lot and found some amazing apps that would make my Andy look exceptionally like Ubuntu Phones.Here is what i Did. I downloaded the following apps: 1)Unity Launcher:This app brings you the Famous Ubuntu feature of Side bar that you swipe and you get all your apps at a touch.It allows you to adjust the dimensions and position of the swipe bar.(For Ubuntu UI ,its better on the left side.)

2)Go Launcher EX :This app will be your Home Screen launcher. a) Go launcher Ex Ubuntu HD Theme b)Go Ubuntu Launcher EX Theme:You can have either of these themes but i am using th GO ubuntu theme.These will bring you the Ubuntu style icons and wallpapers. _After installing this theme you just make your Dockbar invisible from Preferences>Gesture settings>glide down action>Function>Show/Hide Dock bar. Use the glide down gesture to hide the dock bar. 3)Ubuntu Live Wallpaper Beta:This app will be the another famous feature of Ubuntu the Clock on the home screen.
Q)How would you access your app drawer if the app drawer icon is hidden? Ans.While adding apps to the side bar you should add the App Drawer application to it so that you can access it whenever you want. Q)How to sort the apps in the sidebar? Ans. Swipe the sidebar out and long touch for a moment it will show option Sort and Delete.You can then select the sort option and move the apps up and down in the list by dragging them by holding the such icon.
Google launches a new section in their Google Play store."BOOKS". Foe people who love reading books can now have pleasure of reading on their 'Shiny Glass Pieces'-Android phones ,tablets,kindles or ebook Readers or Google Chrome Web App .They have also allowed another option for reading those books on your lappys and Pc's using a Web browser.Android users must download the GOOGLE PLAY BOOKS app available for free to access these books.
I was surprised to see that Google has made a provision for the Apple users to enjoy their BOOKS... Google claims to have listed over 4 million books to choose from in every imaginable category, including many free ebooks.
The books section has almost the same Layout as the App store.It shows most trending and top paid and top free apps to the left.With several categories and sub-categories.
Books are going to be either in flowing text format or Scanned pages.
I have had the worst experience in reading scanned pdf files on my android.It sucks!!After all you cannot adjust the text according to your wish.You have to continuously go on scrolling in all possible directions whereas in the flowing text you just have to adjust the zoom to get optimal font size for your eyes and start reading .You have to scroll only downwards..Its far Better.
The free books can be read in the Browser itself.How?
You just go to the book you wish to read and then select the How to read Tab.You can see an option Read On your Browser.Just click on it to open your book then and their and start reading.
