Android Operating system as we know has grown rapidly from past few years.It has dominated almost all the other mobile OS's that we know like Java,windows,Bada and in some aspects gave a tough competition to the Apple's Mac and Blackberry OS.
Being released by google as open-source, under the Apache License, Android has developed with a lightening speed and maintained its standard.
As I said it gives a tough competitions to the Mac and blackberry is because of its large community of app developers.
I'd like to share some statistics with all of you.
Android became the world’s leading smartphone platform at the end of 2010. For the first quarter of 2012, Android had a 59% smartphone market share worldwide. At the half of 2012, there were 400 million devices activated and 1 million activations per day.
